Wilbur G. Wright, 73, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pine City Cemetery in Wilcox County, Ga. The family may be contacted at his residence. Wilbur was born in Pitts, Ga. to the late Willie Cecil Wright and Lillian Burnett Wright. Bill Wright, Wilbur’s brother, precedes him in death. He was a farmer and enjoyed bird hunting and watermelon harvesting. He was member of Northern Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed singing Gospel music. Wilbur is survived by his wife: Pam Wright of Cordele; his daughters: Melissa Wright of Fitzgerald and Mallory Wright of Cordele; and his sisters: Delores Wells of Pineview, Wylene (Roy) Bohannon of Pitts and Lorie (Larry) Smith of Pineview.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015. Gail Ray, age 66, passed away June 4, 2015 at Crossview Care Center in Pineview Ga. She was a native of Cordele, Ga. and was a member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress from Rochelle Garment Co. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her father, Albert David Ray, Sr., and brother, David Ray. She is survived by her mother: Stella Ray of Cordele, Ga.; her sisters: Glenda Gill and Patricia (Wendell) Breedlove both of Cordele, Ga.; and a sister-in-law: Sheryl Ray of Cordele.

CORDELE — Dell F. Hughes died Monday night, July 18, 2016 at Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. A private burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Hughes was born in Wilcox County, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Norman Shafter Faircloth and the late Myrtle Waldrip Faircloth. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lawrence Hughes; her siblings: Norman Faircloth, William T. Faircloth, Britt Faircloth, James Faircloth, Elizabeth Allison, Bessie Cantrell and Joyce Harrell. Mrs. Hughes was a retired executive secretary for Tallman & Company and co-owner of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. She attended Georgia State College and graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus with a BS in education. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her sisters: Ina Faircloth of Atlanta, Ga. and Hazel Faircloth co*ker of Cleveland, Ga.; her sisters-in-law: Mary Faircloth of Tifton Ga. and Ferol Faircloth of Wewahitchka, Fla.; her significant other: Terry Williamson of Cordele, Ga., several nieces and nephews, and several great- nieces and great-nephews.
