Unlimited visit with one time payment

Under the proposed scheme, users will be able to opt for an annual pass by paying payments 3,000 once a year. This payment provides unlimited access to national highways, expressways and state expressways without the need for any additional recharge throughout the year.

Pay-e-U-Go Options

For those who do not travel long distance regularly, a distance-based pricing model is also on the proposal. In this model, users pay 50 for each 100 kilometers, replace current variable toll rates. This option provides flexibility and strength for topical passengers.

Barrier-free toll booth

The aim of the new system is to replace the sensor-based gates with a completely obstruct-free experience and eliminate physical obstacles at toll booths. According to a report by the Times of India, this change is expected to significantly improve traffic flows, reduce fuel consumption and reduce congestion in toll plazas.

Infection for existing fastag users

Existing fastag accounts will be valid, and users can basically switch to the new system. The government promises a trouble-free infection, allowing current users to adopt an annual pass or pay-e-boo model without the need for a new account. However, first available 30,000 passes for 15 years will no longer be offered.

The policy is still pending implementation, and the government is working on developing a compensation structure for existing highway contractors, as the new toll system is expected to affect their revenue. Additionally, banks will be given an extended authority to implement toll collection rules, including the ability to make a minimum fastag balance compulsory to prevent toll theft.
