Elon Musk -owned Tesla is not allegedly eager to establish manufacturing and production units in India. According to the statement of the Union Heavy Industries Minister Hd kumaraswamyTesla is only interested in expanding his showroom in India.

“Tesla, we are not really expected of them, they are only to start the showroom. They are not interested in manufacturing in India,” the minister was said by news agency ANI.
Kumaraswamy further said that despite this TeslaMany international companies like Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, Skoda and Kia have shown interest to establish manufacturing units in India based on new policy for electric vehicles.
Under new EV policyIf the company invests US $ 500 million to set up a manufacturing plant in India, companies are allowed a 15 pay rent duty. Companies will need to source 25 percent of India for the first three years, and then expand up to 50 percent by the fifth year.
Talking to reporters, the Union Minister said that the application window for the plan to promote the manufacture of electric passenger cars in India (SPMEPCI) would be open soon.
