Vikram Singh Mehta is a member of the Board of Interglobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) from May 2022 to May 2022.
IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, announced the appointment of Vikram Singh Mehta as the new chairman on Wednesday, making Venkatarmani Sumantan a success.
Mehta is a member of the Board of Interglobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) since May 2022.
In a release, IndiGo stated that Mehta succeeded Sumantan, who ventured below the post after the completion of his five -year term as a board member.
Sumantan was appointed as the chairman in May 2022 and, Post-Covid navigated the board during the last three years during the strong recovery and incredible growth of IndiGo.
Mehta, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, has served as the Chairman of the Shell Group of Companies in India and the CEL Chemicals, Egypt’s CEO in other roles. He has also worked in boards of various companies.
A Mathematics Bachelor of Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, Mehta has also held a master’s degree in politics and economics from Oxford University and a master’s degree in Energy Economics from Tufts University.
Apart from Mehta, according to the information available on the IndiGo website, the company’s board including co-founder Rahul Bhatia has six members.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Indigo promoter and co-founder Rakesh Gangwal and his family’s trust reduced their holdings by dividing 5.72 percent stake in the airline. 11,564 crore through open market transactions.
