Manav Thakar fought an enthusiastic battle against World No. Four Harimoto Tomokzu before going down in 64, while on Tuesday, Manika Batra made a simple performance against the lower ranked park Gahione to get out of the World Table Tennis Championship. Thakkar, at 48th position, matched 11–13, 3–11, 11-9, 6–11, 11-9, 3–11, matching his more skillful Japanese rival stroke for stroke in the third and fifth games.
