Ford 274,000 Navigator and Expedition SUV remembers the brake function risk

The recall includes 223,315 campaigns and 50,474 navigators between models year 2022 and 2024. Ford hopes that only 1% of these vehicles have faults.

Ford is recalling about 274,000 of its campaign and Lincoln-branded navigator SUV across the US due to an issue that may cause loss of brake function while driving, increasing accidents.

According to documents published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the front brake lines in these now-ridden cars with their engine air cleaner outlet pipes may “contact” due to the possible installation defect. This may result in loss of brake fluid leaks and/or brake function.

The affected drivers may experience an increase in pedal travel, warning the NHSTA documents, which means that the pedal must be pressed hard to apply brakes. And if there is a leaked brake line, the fluid level will be reduced over time – potentially red brake warning indicator to light.

A Ford spokesperson had no additional comments when the Associated Press arrived on Wednesday.
