Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 aircraft flew from Ahmedabad to London, crashed near a few minutes in the Meghninagar region after takeoff.

The Tata Group’s official X profile has posted a statement from Air India President N Chandrasekaran about the terrible accident in Ahmedabad. An Air India flight with 242 people went down five minutes after the takeoff. Addressing the incident, Chandrasekaran has expressed his “deep grief”.

“With intensive sorrow, I confirm that Air India Flight 171 operating Ahmedabad London Gatwick was involved in a tragic accident today. Our thoughts and deep sensations are with all the families and loved ones who are affected by this disastrous event. At this time, our primary attention is to fulfill all the affected people and their families. We get more verified information.

Air India on Ahmedabad Crash:

The airline issued a statement on its official X profile: “Flight AI171, Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident on 12 June 2025 today. At this time, we are detecting the details and shall share the updates on the Air India website and our X handle as soon as possible.”

Air India aircraft crashed near the Meghninagar area in Gujarat on Thursday afternoon. Captain Sumit Sabharwal, the first officer Clive Kundar, was under the command of the aircraft, with 242 people on the board. In addition to passengers, two pilots and ten cabin crew members were on the ship.
