Noida: A major accident occurred in Sector 36 of Greater Noida when a house toilet exploded. The fire broke out after the explosion, which scorched the 20 -year -old youth. The family members of the youth have given information about this. He claimed that the incident occurred due to the accumulation of methane gas in the sewer line. The incident took place on 3 May when Ashu Nagar, a student of class 12, was using the western -style toilet in his house and exploded while flushing, causing a fire.
Sudden explosion
The young man’s father Sunil Pradhan told that Ashu’s face, hands and feet were burnt. Pradhan said that he was not using any electronic gadget at that time, the explosion which was quite strong. He claimed that the explosion was caused by the accumulation of methane gas in the sewer line. He said that 35 to 40 percent of his son’s body has been burnt and he is being treated at the Government of Medical Sciences (GIMS).
Officials meet the family
Pradhan said that local authority officials met the family and sought 10 days to complete the investigation of the incident. The residents of the area alleged that the authority had first installed pipes for methane extraction at several places, but they are not currently working.
What did the officer say
On contact, senior manager of the authority AP Verma said, “The sewer line system is working properly in the area. The explosion may have occurred due to an internal problem inside the house. The ‘vent pipes’ are on.’ Vent pipe is a type of pipe designed to control air flow in ‘plumbing system’. This ensures that waste water and water can get out of the house properly. (Language)
