‘I am ready for season 12:’ Aslam Inamdar set for PKL return

Aslam stands as a symbol of prize determination, as the Pro Kabaddi League season 12 player auction on 31 May in Mumbai. The versatile all-rounder created by Puneri Palton is set to make his comeback after a challenging season 11, who saw just seven matches before the knee injury at the end of the season. “For a kabaddi athlete, injury is a common issue – it is a part of life and is an important part of the game,” represents Aslam. “I believe a player is really recognized only when he shows his ability after an injury, how he prepares himself and makes himself fit.”

The 25 -year -old faced a meniscus tear in his knee, requiring surgical intervention. “I took a decision that I had to recover quickly. It’s been six months now, and I am fine. I am ready for season 12,” he confidently announces.

Aslam’s absence was eagerly felt by Puneri Palton in season 11. The team that conquered PKL in season 10 managed only 8th position as captain. “I was able to play seven matches, and by then, my team was at the top of the table in season 11,” Aslam recalls. “When I was rejected, my team’s confidence level went down, I think, and impressed our performance.”

To separate Aslam, he has a deep connection with Puneri Palton Franchise, a relationship spread over five sessions since season 7. He started his youth academy in ‘Yuva Paltan’, and learned the team as captain for glory.

In PKL, he scored 545 out of 70 matches and scored 38 points in seven matches in season 11.

He said, “I have a lot of confidence in Puneri Palton – I can say that it is incredible for me.” “The owner talks to me about every situation. After my injury, he has treated me like a family. He still says that I am his captain and will always be his captain.”

As teams are ready for auction, Aslam hopes that there will be a fierce competition. “The upcoming season 12 auction will be challenging and competitive as a lot of big names have come on the auction list. A player can go up to 2 crores, making it more competitive than ever.”
