A view of attack by Israeli Army in Gaza (File)
Washington: The technology sector giant Microsoft has admitted that it provided artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing services to the Israeli army during the Gaza war. These services were used in efforts to detect and save Israeli hostages. However, the company says that it has not found any evidence that its agreum forum and AI techniques have been used to target or harm people in Gaza.
This confession has surfaced through a blog post without signature on Microsoft’s corporate website, which is believed to be the first public confirmation of the company’s participation in the war. It is worth mentioning that the war began on 7 October 2023 after the attack on Israel by Hamas and killing about 1,200 people. Thousands of people died in Gaza in retaliation. An earlier report by the Associated Press (AP) claimed that Microsoft had a close partnership with the Israeli Ministry, and the military use of commercial AI products increased by 200 times after the war started.
