Panipat: A Pakistani spy has been arrested from Panipat in Haryana. Police arrested Pakistani spy from Sector-13/17 area. Haryana Police said that a suspected detective was arrested in Panipat district on Tuesday for allegedly providing sensitive information to some people in Pakistan.
Intelligence information was sending people sitting in Pakistan
The accused has been identified as Nauman Ilahi (28), who is originally a resident of Mohalla Begampura in Kairana town in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. The accused was working as a security guard in the district. SP Ram Punia, in -charge of Panipat, said that Elahi was in touch with some people in Pakistan and was providing sensitive information to them. When asked whom Ilahi was in touch with, Punia said that these things are part of the investigation. His mobile phone has been confiscated and further investigation is on.
Two suspected spies were arrested in Punjab too
The arrest took place immediately after another incident, in which the Punjab Police said that they have arrested two people, including a woman, for alleged involvement in the detective activities associated with a Pakistani officer posted in Delhi.
Elahi has been arrested in the wake of a strong vigilance in Haryana in view of the recent military conflict with Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack last month. On May 10, India and Pakistan reached an agreement and decided to stop all kinds of firing and military operations on land, wind and sea with immediate effect. After four days of drone and missile attacks from across the border, the two countries reached the verge of war on a full scale.
