Ukraine President Jailonsky and Russian President Putin.
Kyiv: A big statement of Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky has come out. He said on Tuesday that Ukraine has been fighting war with Russia for more than 3 years. He is waiting for Putin’s face-to-face talks for the first time. Jailonsky said that he would wait till the last moment of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Turkish capital Ankara this week to interact face to face about the Russia-Ukraine war.
Let me tell you that Putin had offered talks a few days ago on the Russian-Ukraine War for May 15 without any precondition, which was accepted by Jailonsky. Now Jailonski is about to reach Turkey. But Putin has not yet stated whether he would attend the talks or not, while US President Donald Trump has urged both sides to attend the talks as part of Washington’s efforts to stop the war.
Jailonsky said that Putin will be waiting
If Putin himself is involved in this dialogue, then after the war starts, it will be a first face-to-face meeting between Putin and Jailonski. Jailonsky told reporters in Kiev that he would be in Ankara on Thursday to hold talks. He said that he is planning to meet Turki President Rajab Tayyab Erdoan and they will both wait for Putin to come. Jailonsky said that if Putin selects Istanbul for the meeting, the two leaders will go there. (AP)
