
Many flights have been canceled due to airport shutdown
Amid tension with Pakistan, the central government has decided to close 24 airports in the country till May 15. Earlier, the date for this was fixed till 10 May. On Thursday, the Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that 24 airports would remain closed for common citizens till 10 May. Now its date has been extended till 15 May.
Many airlines have issued advisory for passengers asking them to close the airport and get information about the security protocol. Earlier, all the airlines had told that as per the instructions of the Center, passengers will have to reach the airport three hours before the flight leaves. The check in will be closed 75 minutes before the flight fly.

Air India wrote in the X post, “After the notification of the aviation officers about many airports being closed in India, the flights of Air India coming from stations like Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Bhuj, Jamnagar and Rajkot are being canceled till 5:29 am on 15 May. You can withdraw all money by canceling tickets. ” IndiGo has canceled all the flights coming to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh and Rajkot till May 10. Airports in Chandigarh, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bhuntar, Kishangarh, Patiala, Shimla, Jaisalmer, Pathankot, Jammu, Bikaner, Leh, Porbandar and other cities will remain closed till May 14.
More than 100 flights canceled from Delhi Airport
Officials at Delhi’s IGI Airport said that flight operations have been affected due to tight security. According to PTI reports, a total of 66 domestic flights which were about to leave between 5 am and 2 pm on Friday, canceled and 63 flights which were coming from another place were also canceled. During this period, 5 flights going abroad and 4 flights coming from abroad from abroad were also canceled. Delhi Airport Authority said in a post on X, “Operations at Delhi Airport remain normal. However, the changing aircraft conditions and safety measures may affect the program and security process of some flights.”
